Prof. Miodrag Labovic

ACADEMIC RESEARCH AND EDUCATION

Professor Labovic has opened new dimensions of knowledge in anti-corruption by launching a new typology of organized crime that includes qualitatively new scientific criteria. Within the framework of this typology two new theoretical types of organized crime are explored, taking old practices to the next level. Institutional and institutionalized organized crime are seen as consequences and tools of a general concept of systemically corrupted policy. As these scientific concepts are brand new theoretical concepts, his perception of corruption marks a completely different approach compared to the most referred to authors in the world.

GROUPE DE RECHERCHE CORRUPTION & DEMOCRATIE

ACADEMIC RESEARCH AND EDUCATION

TM Music

YOUTH CREATIVITY AND ENGAGEMENT

In African culture, music is one of greatest tools to pass on information. On this note, TM Music realized that merging musical and organizational skills can create a lasting impact on Tanzanian society for this generation and future ones too. To begin, members of TM Music brought together youths (some musically talented and others without prior musical training) through a keen desire to share their passion while addressing some of the pressing issues affecting their society. They composed music tackling real issues such as the fight against corruption and pursuit of peace in their country. These themes were especially pertinent during Tanzania’s 2015 General Election.

Ms. Hanan Khandagi

INNOVATION / INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM

On 10th October 2010, 7-year-old Abdul Rahman sat chained next to the door after his supervisor forced him to stay alone as punishment for his hyperactivity. Abdulrahman suffers from a harmless mental disorder and hyperactivity. His story motivated Hanan Khandagi to dedicate more than one and half years to monitoring the physical, sexual and verbal violations children with special needs face at private centers in Jordan. Findings were compiled in the investigative video report “Behind the Walls of Silence”.
